From the age of 5, Matthew Jurasek fell in love with music. Soon after he began taking piano lessons which planted the seed that would stay with him for the rest of his life. After being asked to join a hardcore metal band at age 12, Matthew started playing guitar and changed over to bass for his band Zero Strikes Back, who went on to play numerous concerts at the legendary Stone Pony.

At age 15, Matthew was asked to play in the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Youth Project, after meeting musician Matt Wade. Wade and Matthew then decided to start the on-going MTM Trio. Currently Matthew is living in Philadelphia working on his debut album with his band Matermathu, in-between playing with The Matthew Curran Band, jazz gigs around the Philadelphia area, and attending Drexel University for Music Industry/Jazz Bass.
